When I'm not pretending to hit baseballs out of the park at Target Field in Minneapolis (see actual photo), I'm integrating creative strategy and design to help shape brands and deliver results. Much of my past experience is tied to creating 1:1 communications for some of the world’s largest and most successful customer loyalty and CRM programs.
A friend of mine recently went to the store for a bag of charcoal. He took a picture of the packaging and sent it to me. What the heck! Do you think I was separated at birth with the sketch on the right? That's the real me on the left by the way. Even my wife says the sketch definitely looks like a "much younger" version of me. Gee...thanks, Bobbie.
So with the little time I've had outside of posing for charcoal bags, I was a night club singer and sax player for a decade before getting a real job as a Designer, Art Director and Creative Director. Yeah, I already know what you're thinking... "real job"? Maybe I'll say "day job" even though that too is not entirely accurate. Here's what I've been doing most days (and some nights) for the past 25+ years:
I worked as a Graphic Designer for Varitronics for four years, then was Creative Director for The Lacek Group Worldwide for the next eight. From there, went on as a co-founder and Principal of Boost, LLC, a marketing communications firm that merged with Publicis Hawkeye 11 years later. Now, I'm currently with Jim Williams Design. Sure, maybe the name Jim Williams Design is less original than Varitronics, The Lacek Group Worldwide, Boost or Publicis Hawkeye, but I guarantee the work is not.
